Kristy Meares Sides

About

Kristy Meares Sides focuses her practice in the area of trusts and estates, including estate administration and private wealth planning, as well as asset protection, closely-held business succession, and a wide range of fiduciary matters. Her extensive financial and legal background allows her to provide clients with a practical perspective on the plans they are considering and implementing.

Prior to her current practice, Kristy spent twelve years with a large national bank fiduciary where she reached the designation of Senior Vice-President. In that role, Kristy was the relationship manager for individuals and families nationwide. She assisted her clients with financial transactions to accommodate their complex wealth profile. Over time, she built a special emphasis on managing clients with heavy concentrations in real estate and closely-held businesses. Kristy’s role also allowed her to consult with many financial advisors to assist them in planning for and providing appropriate fiduciary solutions for their clients.

Following law school at Wake Forest University, Kristy had the honor of clerking for Chief Justice I. Beverly Lake, Jr. and Justice Dan Brady of the Supreme Court of North Carolina. This experience allows her to counsel her clients regarding the complexity of litigation and how best to accommodate their goals to avoid that result and the associated expense.
